YOUNG CELL SCHEME ROUND XIII MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME, INTRODUCED TO NON-MAJORITY COMMUNITIES AND NGOs IN KOSOVO, OFFERING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL STUDENTS.

Young Cell Scheme Round XIII, Master’s Scholarship Programme has been presented on the 7th of October during the conference regarding non-majority communities, organized by the Office for Community Affairs and the Office for Good Governance within the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the conference, along with the Minister of Local Government Administration, Mr. Elbert Krasniqi, the Director of the Office for Good Governance, Mr. Habit Hajredini, representatives of municipalities, NGOs, civil society and Media.

The main aim of the Young Cell Scheme presentation was to introduce the programme and to guide, support, and mobilize non-majority communities (like Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian) to benefit from the program’s opportunity and apply for the postgraduate scholarship. “It is an important project for the whole society and especially for students with diverse backgrounds whom their participation we aim to further endorse as part of our equal opportunities policy” Mr Nikos Kifonidis (Project Director of YCS). The engagement of representatives of the NGOS organisations is important in order to promote it to potential candidates. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Civil Service of Kosovo. YCS is a sustainable way of supporting Kosovo’s public administration reform, to get in line with the best EU practices. Initially launched in 2004, YCS offers through the delivery of scholarships an opportunity for young Kosovar students to study in universities located in the EU Member States, and to later work in the civil service. Young Chell Scheme Round XII, Master’s Scholarship Programme, offers both financial and practical support to selected candidates, while there are many new and important elements introduced in this new round at the benefit of the candidates.

Young Cell Scheme Round XII is co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Kosovo YCS and implemented by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Institut National du Service Public.
